About Baby Massage

Massage of your baby is a way of connecting with your baby: The hands on experience can be deeply relaxing for your baby and enjoyable for you both. In many cultures babies are massaged daily, and massage can help you to understand what your baby is trying to communicate and allows you to respond carefully to your baby.

Massage courses are suitable for babies from birth to 12 months and you will learn great techniques to stimulate and relax your baby.

Baby Massage may help:

  • Provide relaxation and relieve anxiety for both baby and parent
  • Soothe your baby to help them sleep better
  • Stimulate circulation and enhance the supply of oxygen and nutrients around the body
  • Aid digestion and reduce wind, constipation and symptoms of colic
  • Encourage bonding
  • Improve skin contact
  • Create an enjoyable routine

The course consists of four weekly sessions and allows you to learn how to massage all areas of your baby's body. You will learn to massage your baby from head to toe and you may find this is great fun. The sessions are 1 hour long and each session will focus on a specific body region eg hands and arms.  Each session will build on the techniques used and from day one you will be able to incorporate this into your daily routine.

Group size is strictly limited to ensure the sessions are relaxed and informal and can accommodate individual needs, therefore please enquire and book in advance.

Courses are held regularly throughout the year, please contact Lisa Carroll at Lilliput Health for dates and more information.  Telephone 01202 725090.
